Trade and Distribution
Remaining profitable despite declining margins
Mid-sized
wholesalers have to prove themselves day after day. The profitability has to be maintained
despite declining profit margins and high storage costs.
Changing structures and processes
Fundamental changes of the sales and procurement markets such as
concentration, increasing inter-channel competition and the
ongoing digitalization alter the structures and processes of the distribution of
consumer goods between producers, retailers and consumers,
so that closer cooperation between partners in the chain of value are necessary.
A realignment from vertical marketing management to the
customer-oriented focus on processes can only be achieved through a restructuring of not
only the individual producer or wholesaler, but the entire
chain of value.
